28/08/2008 Kerry County Council Take Delivery Of Euroquipe High Pressure Road Wash Tanker Kerry County Council have taken delivery of a fully galvanised 1350Gal High Pressure Road Wash Tanker from Euroquipe. The tanker which is to be used in the Dingle area was custom designed to perform a number of different cleaning applications and comes equipped for high pressure road washing, road sweeping, high pressure gun washing and drain cleaning. Barry Holland Sales Manager for Euroquipe commenting on the sale said that "while we have sold plenty of Roadwash Tankers, this is definitely the most versatile unit to date". Dennis O'Connor Road Supervisor for the Dingle area said that "Kerry County Council were extremely happy with the performance and that the unit had lived up to all expectations in terms of the multiple functions required of it." The tanker had been specified by Kerry County Council to be used for a number of different applications; - Cleaning of roads outside work sites. Equipped with a 10 nozzle high pressure spray bar delivering up to 25gpm at 200bar (3000PSI) and a hydraulic sweeper brush, the tanker can be used to wash down and clean the heaviest of debris from a road.
- Cleaning up following oil spills. The tanker allows for a road to be sprayed with detergent and then washed and brushed to eliminate all oil residue.
- Dampening of 804 prior to surfacing. The spray bar at the rear of the roadwash tanker running at reduced pressure is much more effective in the dampening process than the traditional method of splashing water from a vacuum tanker.
- Washing of road signs. As the Euroquipe Roadwash Tanker comes equipped with a high pressure trigger gun, road signs etc.. can be washed manually by the tanker operator. Due to the installation of an optional hose reel, the operator also has the ability to work at a distance of up to 30m from the tanker.
- Drain Cleaning. The tanker comes fully equipped for drain cleaning with a hydraulic hose reel containing 100m of high pressure drain cleaning hose and all necessary attachments.
Dennis O Connor of Kerry County Council confirmed that since taking delivery of the tanker it had already been put to use in most of these areas. He noted that the 1350Gal capacity meant the tanker could wash at full flow for at least 1 hour continuously before requiring refilling and that this could be achieved through the fire hydrant fill point installed. Further details for the High Pressure Roadwash Tanker and other hot and cold pressure cleaning systems are available from Euroquipe at;
